Green is the new black. Journalistic techniques to investigate and expose greenwashing
DESCRIPTION
As public attention to environmental and climate issues continues to grow, the phenomenon of greenwashing —the practice of presenting activities as sustainable, ethical, or low-impact when in fact they are not—has become one of the main obstacles to transparent information and genuine ecological transition. This communication strategy, often adopted by companies, institutions, or advertising campaigns, not only deceives the public but also risks slowing down or distorting the necessary processes of change. This workshop is designed as a space for training, analysis, and exchange, open to journalists, activists, and citizens interested in developing a critical perspective capable of recognizing, exposing, and deconstructing misleading narratives. Through the analysis of concrete case studies, the use of fact-checking tools, and the sharing of investigative methodologies, participants will gain practical skills to investigate, document, and rigorously report on greenwashingpractices—contributing to greater collective awareness and a more informed public debate.
