DIG Pitch “Matteo Scanni” 2025. The truth still burns

Live session in English featuring the finalist teams and the DIG Awards 2025 international jury

An international-style pitch, breathless and adrenaline-charged. On the stage of the Teatro San Carlo, the finalist teams in the DIG Pitch category will present their video projects before the DIG Awards jury—seated just a few steps away—and before a high-profile audience of international industry experts. Leading the event is Susanne Reber, a veteran of documentary production and investigative journalism. At stake for the winning project: a production grant of up to €15,000, awarded by the Matteo Scanni Foundation, named after the historic founder and president of DIG, who passed away in 2022. Since 2024, the prize has carried his name. The grant aims to support an investigative or reportage video project in development or pre-production. For all the others, the stage offers the chance to be discovered by international broadcasters, production companies, and talent scouts.

During the “sacred ceremony” of the Pitch, the authors of the finalist projects will have 5 minutes to present in English the concept behind their documentaries, followed by 3 minutes to screen a teaser video (with English subtitles) introducing the theme, characters, setting, and narrative style. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the jury. In addition to the quality, originality, relevance, and execution of the subject, the jury will also take into account the financial sustainability of the project. Admission is free. The winning project will be awarded during the DIG Awards ceremony on Saturday 27 at 9:00 pm in the Church of San Carlo. Discretion during the Pitch is mandatory. No images or sensitive information about the participating projects may be shared during the session.
