Award-winning British director James Jones takes us inside the Fukushima nuclear disaster, documenting Japan’s struggle as it faced a nuclear catastrophe while still reeling from the devastation of an earthquake and tsunami. Documenting the disaster as it unfolded — minute by minute — the film offers unprecedented access to the “Fukushima 50”, the courageous group of men inside the nuclear power plant who risked their lives to prevent a meltdown. It also follows survivors attempting to escape the devastation and nuclear fallout, as well as high-ranking government officials racing against time to contain the crisis.
