1. ICE: INSIDE THE ANTI-IMMIGRATION AGENCY

PRODUCTION: BFMTV
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France
PRODUCTION COUTRY: USA
DATE: 2026
LENGTH: 38′
DIRECTED BY: Jeremie Paire

Under President Donald Trump, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement steps up arrests and deportations of undocumented migrants across the United States. In upstate New York, a major workplace raid shatters an entire community. Dozens of workers are detained, families are separated, and fear spreads among immigrant communities. Through testimonies from migrants, supporters, and critics, this documentary explores a deeply divided America, where immigration enforcement has profound human consequences.

2. KHERSON. IF IT DOESN’T KILL YOU

PRODUCTION: ARTE
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France
PRODUCTION COUTRY: Ukraine
DATE: 2026
LENGTH: 25′
DIRECTED BY: Edward Kaprov

April 2026. For two weeks, filmmaker Edward Kaprov lived among the last remaining residents of Kherson in southern Ukraine. Located on the frontline, the city stretches along the Dnieper River, a fragile border separating it from Russian forces stationed on the left bank. Russian drones lurk, insidiously sowing death as they hunt for targets through the streets of the destroyed city. With his camera, Edward Kaprov has captured moments of life and gathered the testimonies of those he encountered to understand what it means to live without knowing whether you will still be there the next day.

3. MEOW MEOW: INSIDE RUSSIA’S MEPHEDRONE TEEN CRISIS

PRODUCTION: BBC World Service
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Uk, Latvia
PRODUCTION COUTRY: Russian Federation
DATE: 2025
LENGTH: 37′
DIRECTED BY: Anastasia Platonova

This BBC investigation exposes the growing use of mephedrone among Russian teenagers - a synthetic drug known as “Meow Meow” or “the poor man’s cocaine” - following the drug’s journey from Chinese precursors to Russian production labs. For over a year the team has followed the lives of 18-year-old Maxim, involved in drug trafficking since he was 13, and Olga, who has battled addiction since 14. Their stories reveal the devastating impact of the drug on young lives and shed light on why increasing numbers of teenagers are drawn into the narcotics trade, while law enforcement agencies struggle to contain it.

4. PAKISTAN, BROKEN INNOCENCE

PRODUCTION: France 24
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Pakistan
PRODUCTION COUTRY: Pakistan
DATE: 2025
LENGTH: 31′
DIRECTED BY: Shahzaib Wahlah, Sonia Ghezali

A powerful documentary exposing the hidden reality of sexual violence within Pakistan’s madrasas, religious schools attended by more than two million children, many from the country’s poorest communities. Over a year of reporting, the directors uncover a deeply entrenched system in which victims are pressured into secrecy and powerful institutions remain largely unaccountable. Through rare testimonies, survivor accounts, and on-the-ground reporting, the film reveals how social stigma, fear, and institutional complicity create an environment in which abuse persists unchecked.

5. WITHOUT CONSENT

PRODUCTION: ARTE
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France
PRODUCTION COUTRY: Peru
DATE: 2026
LENGTH: 24′
DIRECTED BY: Sophie Bontemps

Between 1996 and 2000, Peru became the scene of one of the largest forced sterilization campaigns in modern Latin American history. More than 300,000 people were sterilised across the country, many without their free and informed consent. The campaign primarily targeted the poorest regions of Peru, especially Indigenous communities in the Andes and the Amazon. Nearly three decades later, this documentary meets survivors still waiting for justice. Their struggle has become a symbol of the fight against gender-based violence, discrimination, and the abuse of state power over the most vulnerable.
