The European Union funnels billions of euros to North African countries to curb irregular migration at its borders, an approach with deadly consequences, leaving refugees and migrants stranded in the desert without food or water. The documentary Deserted. Europe’s Deadly Migration Policy, a sweeping journalistic investigation produced in collaboration with Lighthouse Reports, Der Spiegel, The Washington Post, Le Monde, El País, and other outlets, lays bare the catastrophic impact of these policies, exposing a largely hidden crisis and bringing to light the names of victims too often buried in anonymous statistics.
