🎞️ «Special Operation»

When Russian troops occupied the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the very first hours of the invasion of Ukraine, their activities were captured on CCTV. Special Operation is based on that footage, recorded at the site of the worst nuclear disaster in history. The Russians had turned the plant area into a military base in an attempt to seize the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, just 150 kilometers away. Their plan was to stay for only three days—the time they believed would be necessary for Ukraine to fall. Instead, they were trapped at the radioactive site for five weeks, only to witness their army defeated in the battle for Kyiv.
