Since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, international journalists have been denied access to the Gaza Strip. Permanent correspondents from Agence France-Presse (AFP) are among the few professional witnesses to have experienced the conflict from within. They observed, filmed, photographed, and testified while also struggling to survive. From their exile, they recount this war—the deadliest ever recorded for members of the press.

Director: Aslıhan Eker Çakmak, Tanju Şahin, Jose Carlos Suares
Length: 53′ (2025 | Turkey)

Filmed during the second month of the war in Gaza, «Holy Redemption» takes viewers to the desolate hill of Metzad, between Hebron and Bethlehem. Under strict restrictions banning video and audio recording, the crew entered the world of radical Israeli settlers occupying Palestinian land. These young settlers, driven by visions of Greater Israel and a divine mandate, follow their leaders unquestioningly. The film highlights the horrific attack in the village of Duma and the subsequent failure of justice, exposing both the brutality of the war in Gaza and the relentless second front against Palestinians in the West Bank. Through 22 days of interviews with settlers and their leaders, the documentary reveals Israel’s new weapons and strategies for displacing Palestinians and uncovers unexpected allies. Navigating the dangerous maze of the occupied West Bank, it captures efforts to win settlers’ trust, the influence of their leaders in the Israeli parliament, and the devastating impact of this occupation on Palestinians.

Director: Matthew Cassel
Length: 59′ (2025 | UK)

“Settlements above the Law”, a new BBC Eye film, investigates extremist Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank amid allegations that they are increasingly using violence to seize Palestinian land and property in the region. Eyewitnesses told the BBC that the area has become increasingly violent since Hamas militants killed about 1,200 people in Israel on 7 October 2023. Extremist Jewish settlers are creating a new type of illegal settlement known as a “grazing outpost”, which gives them access to large areas of land. The BBC independently verified the location of 196 outposts established in the occupied West Bank, almost half of which were built in the last five years. Documents viewed by BBC Eye reveal that some of the settlers who established these grazing outposts were supported by two powerful organisations in Israel.

Director: Norma Nebot, Cristina Mora
Length: 79′ (2025 | Spain)

Being a human rights activist or NGO staff member in Palestine is a high-risk endeavor—even when the struggle concerns women’s rights or the right to health. In 2021, Israel designated six of the largest Palestinian NGOs in the West Bank as terrorist groups, without presenting evidence. Some of their directors and staff were detained or targeted with military-grade spyware such as Pegasus. Over the past two years, the war between Israel and Gaza has dominated international headlines—but what was happening before October 7, 2023? Through previously unseen archives, personal footage, and images captured in the West Bank in 2023, this documentary sheds light on how the State of Israel has sought to dismantle Palestinian civil society. How are these Israeli policies supported? «Shrinking Space» presents evidence of U.S. involvement, European complicity, illegal detentions, and the arbitrary incarceration of innocent Palestinian children. The film weaves intimate portraits of renowned persecuted Palestinian activists with powerful reflections on the apartheid regime and systemic repression in Palestine.
