The power of independent media. Voices from the information front

In the age of disinformation and 'fake news', independent journalism stands as a bulwark of truth, giving voice to realities often ignored by the big media conglomerates. From London to Tel Aviv, via conflict zones and forgotten realities, brave and unfiltered journalism continues to tell uncomfortable stories, challenge the powerful and give voice to the voiceless. This discussion will bring together five independent journalists from different parts of the world, each with unique experience in bringing to light hidden truths and telling stories that would otherwise remain in the shadows, including through the method of investigation and reportage. We will listen to their first-hand accounts, explore the challenges they face on a daily basis and discuss the crucial importance of independent media in the global news landscape, how they are funded and what their impact is at the local and national level.
