Chronicles from Massafer Yatta. Report on the Israeli occupation with a phone

Mohamed Hureini was born in the occupied West Bank, in the village of At-Tuwani, which is besieged by Israeli settlements. A member of the "Youth of Sumud" collective of young activists, he grew up fighting for the human rights of the Palestinian people, embracing the choice of non-violent resistance in the Masafer Yatta region, which is now at the center of a deliberate ethnic cleansing strategy by Israeli authorities. His only weapon of defense: using his smartphone to document daily attacks, share videos and photos on social media, and report the violations suffered by Palestinians in real time. At 21, he transformed his social media accounts into a constantly updated blog, with reels and short informational videos from the field that document the demolition of homes and schools, arbitrary arrests, crimes committed by settlers, and the systemic violence of the IDF. Hureini meets the DIG audience to talk about the importance of media activism and to practically explain how to use a phone camera even under critical conditions and with limited technological resources.
