How Russia Prepared to Invade Ukraine

This documentary by Le Monde tells how social media have been a key asset to retrace Russia’s unsettling arrangements for the invasion of Ukraine. Ballistic missiles, armored vehicles: hundreds of videos shot over the winter 2021-2022 show military equipment heading west.

Associated with satellite images, they record the unprecedented scope of this tactical deployment. Less than 250 km away from the Ukrainian borders, at least fifteen military camps experienced an unusual increase in their military equipment. Overall, according to Ukraine and the United States, almost 100 000 Russian soldiers have been deployed at the Ukrainian borders between April 2021 and February 2022.
