“Bloodlines” is a poignant exploration of the lives of children under the Islamic State. With a compelling narrative, the audio series sheds light on the lives of infants born or transported to the Caliphate by radicalised parents, in camps in the Syrian desert. At the heart of the podcast is the story of a missing child, Salmaan, and his grandfather Ash, an East London bus driver. Desperate for news about a grandson he has never met, Ash turns to BBC journalist Poonam Taneja for help. Written and hosted by Taneja, “Bloodlines” took the reporter to spend three weeks in Syrian prison camps amidst bombings and extreme danger.
