For years, West Africa has been gripped by an opioid crisis: dangerous, highly addictive pills packaged as medicine and sold cheaply on the streets. But who is behind their trade? And who is shipping them into Africa? This undercover investigation exposes the complicity of ruthless Indian pharmaceutical executives profiting from misery, cashing in on the production and export of opioids. A bold piece of journalism, it has already had real-world impact, leading to seizures and arrests in India and sparking parliamentary inquiries in Ghana.
