The continued risk of escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has rekindled attention to the importance of the Middle East in the world's geopolitical balances. Lebanon, on Israel's northern border, is experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis: since 2019, its currency has lost 98% of its value and its banking system has collapsed. This documentary reveals the mechanisms behind the economic and financial collapse of one of the key countries for ensuring stability in the Middle East, but also the absolute refusal of Lebanon's political elite, made up of former warlords and billionaires, to put an end to the country's endemic corruption. This is a dangerous situation that has a devastating impact on the lives of the Lebanese population, who cannot afford essentials and now face a hopeless future.
