In February 2021, a military junta in Myanmar staged a coup d'état, dismissing the government led by Aung San Suu Kyi and imprisoning its ministers. Three years later, the civil disobedience movement of the country's youth turned into a solid armed resistance. Filmed on the battlefront in Loikaw, 200 kilometres from the capital Naypidaw, this reportage shows the lives of all the young men and women who joined the war as fighters or nurses, and their daily struggle to re-establish democracy in Myanmar. The filmmaker, who secretly entered the country, also managed to meet Maui, a charismatic 30-year-old rebel leader who leads thousands of fighters in the city of Loikaw. The film follows Maui's men at a critical time in the fighting, as the shortage of equipment and ammunition makes military action more difficult, under the constant threat of bombardment by junta-led fighters.
