On 3 June 2025, Ameen Sameer Khalifa, a 30-year-old Palestinian, set out for a GHF food distribution centre in southern Gaza to find food for his displaced family. Hours later, his mother identified his body at Nasser Medical Complex. Using forensic analysis, eyewitness testimony, satellite imagery and Ameen’s own final video, this investigation reconstructs the events leading to his death and reveals how Gaza’s humanitarian aid system turned food distribution sites into deadly traps for civilians. The investigation identifies an Israeli military outpost near the site and raises questions about the so-called “safe routes” established for those seeking aid.
