After fleeing a climate disaster in his native Honduras, Fabrizio Lanza migrated to Louisiana, where he now helps rebuild US communities devastated by tornadoes and other extreme weather events. Post-disaster reconstruction has become a booming industry in the United States that relies heavily on migrant labor. But the work is far from safe, and the risks are enormous. Determined to fight for change, Lanza joins a movement pushing for legislation to guarantee the rights of workers like him. Storms to Survive in America follows his journey from hope for a better future to a tragic ending that exposes the cruelty of a broken system, one where even the basic right to exist remains precarious for migrants.
