“The Anti-Trans Hate Machine: A Plot Against Equality” is an investigation into how powerful right-wing actors have orchestrated an extraordinary disinformation campaign against young and trans people. The series explores how this disinformation is even influencing editorial policy in one of the most powerful news organisations in the world: The New York Times. This series uncovers the roots of this misinformation and reveals how a powerful system has brought fringe ideologies about trans youth to the forefront, manipulating public opinion and influencing media coverage in the US and beyond. The series is having a significant impact, even drawing the attention of members of Congress and state legislators to how our series is shaping their work, deepening their understanding of the current threat against trans boys and girls and helping them see beyond the misinformation. The podcast has been downloaded more than 100,000 times and in 2023 alone reached a total audience of 550 million people.
