This animated documentary tells the story of Lynzy Billing, a young British journalist of Afghan-Pakistani descent, who returns to Afghanistan to find out who killed her family thirty years earlier. In the course of her search, Billing discovers a secret US-backed programme that has killed hundreds of civilians over the years. While immersed in the chaos of war, she embarks on a dangerous quest to uncover the truth about the so-called “Unit Zero”, teams of Afghan paramilitaries funded, trained and directed by the CIA to hunt down the Taliban. By following the deadly night raids conducted by one of the units, Billing reveals not only the tragic end of her family, but also the incredible hidden costs of a military programme that has caused the deaths of so many innocent civilians within the walls of their own homes.
