In Ethiopia’s Tigray region, where a brutal civil war has raged for five years, at least 120,000 women have been raped by soldiers. The scars of this violence are systematically hidden, silenced, erased, kept from the eyes of the international community. Tigray: Rape as a Weapon follows the tireless struggle of two Ethiopian women who have dedicated their lives to giving voice to their sisters’ suffering—providing medical and psychological care, challenging social stigma, and shedding light on the devastating consequences of a violence almost impossible to put into words.
