A five-part investigative podcast examining Venezuela’s collapse through the lens of one of the country’s largest corruption scandals. Journalist Laura Weffer follows the trail of former oil ministry official Carmelo Urdaneta, who was implicated in a scheme that siphoned $1.2 billion from state oil giant Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA). This series reveals how a network of insiders looted Venezuela’s oil wealth while millions of citizens endured economic and social collapse.
