Daniel is the founder and editor of Lighthouse Reports, an award-winning European non-profit investigative newsroom. He created Lighthouse’s work on migration and borders and now directs his own surveillance report. Daniel has spent most of his career as a foreign correspondent for The Economist, The Guardian and The Independent, making reports from over 50 countries. More recently he has focused on migration, helping to found Refugees Deeply and spending a period as a Visiting Fellow at the Refugee Studies Center in Oxford.
