DEM is an artist who, like a modern alchemist, creates bizarre characters and surreal creatures, inhabitants of imperceptible layers of human reality. Eclectic and ironic, he enriches his work – ranging from wall paintings to illustrations and paintings on canvas – with a symbolic language that invites viewers to develop their own key to access this enigmatic and arcane world. His engagement with anthropological and nature-related themes fuels constant experimentation that, in recent years, has led to the production of a film and the creation of installations made entirely from natural materials. In addition to his work in abandoned factories and forests, chosen as ideal backdrops for his creations, DEM has been featured in several publications and exhibitions, including a solo show at the Oro Gallery in Gothenburg, and group shows such as Street Art, Sweet Art (PAC, Milan), Nomadaz (Scion Installation, Los Angeles), and CCTV (Apostrophe Gallery, Hong Kong).
