Francesca Albanese is the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory. A jurist, academic, and scholar, she has worked for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees. In these roles, she has advised the United Nations, governments, and civil society in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. In 2020 she published Palestinian Refugees in International Law, in 2023 J’accuse (Fuori Scena, with Christian Elia), in 2025 Quando il mondo dorme, and in 2026 La luce del risveglio, both published by Rizzoli.
