Francesca Coin is a sociologist, whose work focuses on labour and social inequality. Until 2022, she worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Lancaster University, UK. Now she works at the University of Parma. She is the director of the book series on labour “Infedeli”, for the Italian publisher Derive Approdi, and author of several articles and books on contemporary working conditions. Her latest book, “The Great Resignation. The new refusal of work”, was originally published in Italian by Einaudi, and translated in English (Bloomsboy Publishing) and Spanish (Tercero Incluido Editorial). It won the Alessandro Leogrande prize (2024) and the Biella Lieterature and Industry Prize (2024). She writes for il Manifesto and Internazionale.
