Ilaria Fevola

Legal Officer, ARTICLE 19

Ilaria Fevola is an experienced human rights lawyer and activist specializing in the right to freedom of expression, the right to information, and media freedom. She currently works as a Legal Officer at ARTICLE 19 in London, a global freedom of expression organization, where she focuses on transparency, access to information, anti-corruption, sustainable development, and gender. Prior to joining ARTICLE 19 in 2019, she worked as a legal researcher for Columbia Global Freedom of Expression covering the jurisprudence of European regional courts (European Court of Human Rights and Court of Justice of the European Union). Previously, she gained experience in the field of freedom of expression, protection of journalists and media policies working at UNESCO, Media Defence, World Association of Newspapers and News publishers (WAN-IFRA) and Oxygen for Information. Ilaria holds a Master of Law (LL.M) in Human Rights Law from the University of London (UCL) and a Master’s degree in International and European Law (JD) from the University of Turin (Italy).
