Michela Chimenti is a freelance photojournalist, podcaster, author, and video producer. She holds a degree in Political Diplomacy for the Middle East (with honors) and began her career in 2008 reporting for Il Manifesto from the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Her work has taken her across the SWANA region, where she has focused on gender issues and LGBTQIA+ rights through photography and reportage. Michela is the creator and author of Stigma Invisibile (Discovery+), the first Italian docu-series on HIV. She also created and wrote the podcast A Morning in Fiumicino (Storytel), uncovering the untold story of the 1973 Fiumicino airport attack, and Re:tour – A Step Away from Gaza (Lifegate), which investigates “dark tourism” in the Gaza Envelope. The latter ranked 2nd in News and 3rd in Documentary at Il Pod Awards.
