Sally Hayden is the author of My Fourth Time, We Drowned: Seeking Refuge on the World's Deadliest Migration Route, published in March 2022 by 4th Estate, HarperCollins and winner of this year's Orwell Prize for Political Writing. She is also a journalist and photographer and has worked for the The Guardian, the BBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Newsweek, NBC, CNN International, Channel 4 News and many others. He has worked in the Middle East and Europe and is currently Africa correspondent for the’Irish Times.
