Vittorio Iervese is Professor in Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the Department of Linguistic and Cultural Studies, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He has conducted research on visual culture, visual sociology, conflict management, intercultural communication, forms of social participation, sociology of childhood, and cultural design. He is president of Festival dei Popoli – Istituto Italiano per il Film di Documentazione Sociale, director of LAMA – Laboratorio Analisi dei Materiali Audiovisivi (Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia) and currently conceived and directs the project: Dhialogue – Digital Humanities per gli enti e le imprese culturali. His latest publications include: “Documentary activist cinema as an archive of protests” in: Archiving activism in the digital age (Institute of Network Cultures, 2022) e Raccontare storie personali in classe.
